First off, congratulations to Ty Keyes for being named as “player of the practice” today at the 14′s joint practice.  Due to his consistent hard work, power and placement when hitting the ball, consistent communication, and great teamwork…..he was named as “player of the practice”.  So proud of Ty and all his hard work he’s dedicated to his team and especially to the club!!! Keep it up Ty!!!

14′s tournament 4/28

Our 14′s teams have another points tournament this weekend and we are excited for them to get back to the ASC and resume competition again.  They’ve had a long month off from tournament competition and are eager, more confident, and ready to get after it again.  I’m very impressed with the amount of hard work both teams have put into the gym these past couple weeks off and I look forward to a very successful tournament for both teams.  Tournament schedule below.   Go Ohana!

Congratulations to both Ohana AC boys 14′s teams for sweeping up their competition this weekend by winning all their matches!!  I’m so proud of this saturdays success for Ohana!!  Saturday was a true testament to the dedication and hard work the coaches have been putting in the gym, as well as how much the boys keep on improving throughout the weeks of training.  Saturdays tournament was just a taste of the success the boys and staff deserve…..oh ya, AND THE PARENTS DESERVE TOO:).  Lets keep encouraging them at home and keep pushing them to their max in the gym.  Thanks for all your continued support and loyalty to Ohana AC!!  Go Ohana!

It’s going to be a great weekend to get back into the gym for some Ohana volleyball.  I’m excited to focus all our attention on building the 14′s teams and get them to reach a level that we know they should be at.  It’s important that we utilize the time we have in the gym, to making them stronger and more skill developed for the next 3 months.  I’m looking forward to watching them play their hardest this weekend against some good teams.  All my best and Go Ohana!!

First off, I want to thank everyone who participated at Ohana Athletic Club this first half of the 2011-2012 club volleyball season.  I hope you had a great experience and your son became a better volleyball player.  I’m proud of the accomplishments and dedication all the coaches put into each team in order to compete at the highest level possible.  Thank you for believing in a club that’s building tradition and truly cares about each and every kid in the program.  Go Ohana!!

Congratulations to Ohana AC 16-Munoz for earning a “OPEN BID” for Junior Nationals!!!  It’s been a long and trying road, but we did it!!!!  I’m so proud of all the boys hard work and dedication to get into the gym and get better every practice.  It showed and paid off!!!  Congratulations!!!!

“Dominic is a unique player that has an effortless style to his “game”.  Naturally, he’s a big guy with really long arms resulting in him thundering through balls on his attack.  He made the switch from middle blocker to opposite 2 months ago and has worked extremely hard in improving his timing and court presence.  He puts in the reps to get better and it shows on the court.  This is his first year ever playing volleyball and if he sticks with it, he’s going to have a good future in the sport.  TI and play your hardest every point this weekend Dominic!!”-Paul Munoz
